Any number of schools and \u2019area of study\u2019 may be indicated in the admission procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Period<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">2012-2024, annually<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Level of data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">area of study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Main datasets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">1. Application<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The application database consists of application data, rankings, results and student descriptive data. The database with the unique student identifier contains all applications for the published field of study\/area of study of the given secondary school, in the order in which the application is submitted by the student. The database shows student applications were successful (jel_stat1) and where the student actually went to (jel_stat2). The file contains the students\u2019 gender, date of birth, and details of their primary school, as well as if the student has submitted an individual application or it was initiated by the primary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The database is unique by jel_id.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">2. Field of study \/ Area of study<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The \u2019area of study\u2019 database contains all the areas of study and their characteristics as published by secondary education institutions and their settlements. Information available on these courses: type of course, type of secondary school (traditional upper secondary school of 4-5 grades or lower secondary school with 6-8 grades), curriculum of the area of study, foreign languages, for upper secondary schools and vocational schools the occupational groups belonging to the field of study, number of students admitted to a given field, admission conditions (written\/oral exams), descriptive variables of the institutions and settlements, type and name of the school maintainer. The variable sni indicates if a pupil with special educational needs can be enrolled in a given field of study and the variables sni1 to sni7 indicate the type of special education need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The database is unique by the variable tag_id.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The application and area of study files can be linked by the variables ev kozep_om tag_id tag_kod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Main characteristics, comments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>more information about the databases and variables can be seen by using the &#8220;note&#8221; command<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Application file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The variable jel_rangsor is null in case the school rejected the student&#8217;s application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Concerning the school identifier of the primary school (alt_om) and its descriptive variables: In the case of individual applications, the data were not required to be provided and were not compared with the official records, so in order to check the validity of the school identifier of the primary school, a variable called valid was created, and value 1 indicates if the om code is in the educational records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">*** During the admission procedure for the 2014\/2015 school year (enrolment for the 2015\/2016 school year), the decision on the structure of the vocational education and training institutions forced some of them to cancel their fields of study that were announced before the decision on the structure of the vocational education and training institutions. The applications for these fields of study are included in the database jelentkezes_2015.dta, but the results of the admission are not known. This is the reason why the missing value of jel_stat2 rises in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Area of study file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In addition to the general framework curricula, specialisations, Arany J\u00e1nos College-Secondary School Programme, intensive hours, advanced level, language preparatory grade have been added to the category of \u201egeneral curriculum\u201d. For the variable type of education (tag_kepztip), the names of secondary schools have been harmonised with the status before 2017. The occupation identified as a shortage occupation (hianyszakma) in a given year has been created from another variable and is therefore not considered complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The database can be requested for a designated research purpose on a server by submitting a data request form, solely for researchers or research assistants employed by KRTK.
